This robotic Golden Puppy has been a comfort object for many elderly people and those with dementia, including those who had to give up their real dogs. It interacts well, barks quietly, wags its tail, turns its head towards any noise and is cuddly. It is not designed to be left alone with a real dog as it would just sleep, nor is it an appropriate toy for cats. Its battery lasts a long time even if you leave the switch in the on position. Its size is like that of a young puppy. The responses of the sensory areas are not very sensitive and the barking is very soft which could be perfect for those with hearing issues but some of the customers found it minimized their attention. It requires 4 C batteries which makes it heavier than it looks but it comes with batteries and is ready to use. The bark could be louder and more control over the volume would be preferred. It is not suitable for impatient elderly patients with Alzheimer's or dementia.
