Customer Questions & Answers
-
Question:
What are the advantages of using fiberglass for a tape measure?
Answer: Fiberglass offers several advantages over traditional steel tape measures, including a lighter weight and resistance to moisture, which is crucial when measuring in damp or humid environments. Additionally, fiberglass minimizes stretching, ensuring accurate measurements and reducing the risk of breaking, which makes it a preferred choice for those who need reliable tools for both construction and renovation projects. -
Question:
What is the color of the tape measure and does it help in visibility?
Answer: The tape measure comes in a vibrant orange color, which enhances visibility and makes it easy to spot in busy work environments or outdoors. This feature is particularly beneficial on the job site where tools can get lost or overlooked, ensuring that users can quickly locate their tape measure when needed for on-the-spot measurements. -
Question:
How does the impact-resistant shell enhance its usability?
Answer: The impact-resistant shell of the tape measure protects the internal mechanisms from damage caused by drops or bumps, which is particularly beneficial for users in construction or active work environments. This added durability ensures that the tape remains operational over extended periods, giving users confidence in its performance regardless of their working conditions.
Amazon Basics Tape Reels Editorial Review
If you're in need of a tape measure for larger projects, the Amazon Basics Open Reel Fiberglass Tape Measure is a good choice. It comes in a 100-foot length and has both inch and metric markings. However, some users have noted that the inches start over with each foot, which can make it difficult to use for precise measurements. Additionally, the metal rollers that guide the tape may not be positioned in a way that is ideal for those who prefer to use inches instead of the metric system. The tape quickly winds back up for convenience, but the plastic hook may not be particularly durable. Overall, this product is easy to use and made from durable materials. **
