Can the VL600 be mounted to a tripod?
Answer: No, the wand is intended for handheld use without the need for additional equipment. -
Question:
How long does it take to fully charge the battery?
Answer: It takes approximately 2-3 hours to fully charge the lithium ion battery. -

Can the color temperature be adjusted to other values?
Answer: No, only the daylight (5600k) and tungsten (3200k) modes are available. -
Question:
Does this stand up on its own, like on a desktop?
Answer: Not all by itself. It does have a universal 3/8 thread mount in the bottom of the handle for mounting to tripod, light stand, etc. -
Question:
Can you power the light with the AC wall charger for longer shoots if the battery is dead?
Answer: I'm not sure why someone said you can. There is no way to plug this light in. It's battery operated only. -
Question:
Battery life is terrible is there a upgrade for the battery or a dc adapter that would give this more life? longest charge held less then a hour
Answer: Running FP for 1hr of continuous lighting is acceptable. The cost of a few extra batteries is the norm. Unknown of a DC adapt that you are requesting -

How do you know when the battery is fully charged? I've been charging for a few hours now and it's a steady red light. Will it turn green when done?
Answer: Yes, it should go green. You can always unplug it and then turn it on to check function. (And a sidenote, you can operate without battery when you plug it in.) Off brand Sony L batteries like the 550’s that go in that wand often have issues. Id say 3 of 10 fail in my experience. That doesnt mean your battery is useless but it may be the case that yours does not read its charge well. It likely would end up having a reduced life per charge too. They are cheap enough that I keep a pile on hand. I own 3x of these wands, another note: if the electronic on/off/dimmer pad fails you can hack it and put a toggle in there. 2 of mine are now battery only, toggle on/off, non-dimming. (I leave them on my grip truck just in case we want a special). Hope that helps
