  • Question: Where are these made?

    Answer: In China where everything's made and where it will continue to be made with Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as president of the United States. They get kicked backs on every import.
  • Question: Is the display clear and defined from viewing head on?

    Answer: The display is fine. This caliper does not have the 'Fraction' feature and I don't like the battery compartment requiring the removal of screws. The screws get lost. I much preferred the Neiko 01407A which does have a 'Fraction' feature and the battery compartment is snap open. I'm sorry for the confusion, but I returned the model here cited.
  • Question: Can this digital caliper measure the inside of a ring?

    Answer: Yes it can. Big jaws for measuring outside diameter, 1.5 inches deep jaws, max OD can measure is 3.0 inches. Small jaws opposite big jaws for measuring inside diameter, jaw depth .625 inches. It will stay in same unit as it was last used, does not automatically reset the unit, which is a good thing.
  • Question: Does it come with batteries?

    Answer: Yes, including one replacement battery.
  • Question: The body of the screen is metal or plastic?

    Answer: The body of the caliper unit is all metal and well made. The digital display is a standard liquid crystal LCD.

The digital caliper is a handy gadget to measure diameters and ply thicknesses. It comes in a form-fitted hardshell case and includes spare batteries. It is a budget tool and cannot compete with expensive brands with deadly precision, but for its price, it has exceeded the expectations of most users. It measures accurately, but readings are so finite that just adding a little pressure can cause a slight change in the values. This digital caliper can measure the inside of a ring, and its large jaws can measure the outside diameter of up to 3.0" with 1.5" deep jaws. Its small jaws can measure the inside diameter with a jaw depth of .625". Overall, it is an excellent tool for woodwork, arrow shaft measuring, and other projects where a high level of precision is not required.
