The feeder is not dove proof, but according to a user, doves stay below the feeder. The feeder cannot be mounted on a pole. While some users found the feeder to be effective, others found the cheap plastic Construction to be inadequate, with some parts falling off. Others found that the lid and wire were not well designed, causing the feeder to fall apart when hung. Some users also complained that the feeder could not keep rain out.
